XG BODY STYLES

There were four body styles that appeared with the XG series of cameras.  The original style -- on the right -- appeared with the XG7 and XG9 cameras.  Let's call this the XG7 style.  Later styles showed a various cosmetic changes.  A more common, but more subtle, change is seen on the top deck.  The original style had two, black plastic plates -- one under the shutter speed dial and one under the rewind crank.  On later body styles, these two plates are incorporated into the body of the camera itself.  You can easily "ID" the original style by the round shutter speed release button.  Let's call this kthe XG-SE style.  One obvious change is that some cameras, like the XGM, have a built-in hand-grip on the right front of the camera.  Another change was the replacement of the self-timer from the top of the camera to the front of the camera -- and the addition of the AEL (auto-exposure lock) to the same switch.  But the On-Off switch stayed on the top of the camera.  Let's call this the XG-M style.  The last bosy change style was to add a cover over the shutter speed dial the make it harder to chanmge the settings inadvertently.  Let's call this the X-600 style.
