The bleach/fix from any C-41 kit, from any company, should give good results with any color-negative, movie film. For those who want to mix from scratch, here are some formulas to try:
BLIX
Water | 500 ml |
EDTA Ferric Salt | 40.0 g |
EDTA Acid | 4.0 g |
Potassium Iodide | 1.0 g |
Ammonia (20% Sol) | 10.0 ml |
Ammonium Thiosulfate | 100.0 g |
Sodium Sulfite | 2.0 g |
Sodium Tiocyanate (20% sol) | 50.0 ml |
Water to make | 1000 ml |
Instead of a BLIX, you can mix an individual Bleach and Fix, as follows:
BLEACH
Water | 800 ml |
Ammonium Bromide | 150.0g |
EDTA Ferric Salt | 80.0 g |
Sodium Sulfite | 15.0 g |
Glacial Acetic Acid | 10.0 ml |
Sodium Nitrate | 39.0 g |
Water to make | 1000 ml |
The pH of the Bleach must be 6.00 +/- .20 at 80 degrees F
FIX
Water | 800 ml |
Ammonium Thiosulfate 60% | 162.0 g |
EDTA NA2 | 1.25 g |
Sodium Bisulfite | 12.4 g |
Sodium Hydroxide | 2.4 g |
Water to make | 1000 ml |
The pH of the Fixer must be 6.50 +/- .20 at 80 degrees F
